A monumental scale mid-20thC Bronze sphinx Pharaoh head. Originally such large pharaohs were frequently situated as guardians of entrance ways.
Wonderfully detailed and holding a crook and flail which were symbols of pharaonic authority. The shepherd's crook stood for kingship and the flail for the fertility of the land.
